SIBU: A dedicated globetrotter and seasoned traveller, Kong Chek Yong who hails from Sibu is sharing his extensive voyage experiences through the Sarawakiana Talk session titled “Travel Tales of Anak Sarawak”.
The talk, organised by Sarawak State Library (Pustaka) has attracted 20 attendees from various agencies and the public.
Attendees were mesmerized by Kong, who is also an author and photographer of his book entitled “Bearing Witness” shared his experiences of traveling to 182 countries and territories, including war-torn Afghanistan, Syria and to remote continent such as the Antarctica.
Since 2004, he has documented episodes of his life journey and embraced cultural diversity from places he has visited, culminating it through photography and capturing stories of human interests to imprint it on a book.
In 2012, he embarked on a one-and-a-half-year journey to Latin America, Europe, and Central Asia to immerse himself fully in travel photography, a dream he had always wanted to fulfill.
He hoped to continue exploring new destinations and capturing unique moments through his lens.

“Bearing Witness” book is available now at Pustaka Sibu for borrowing. To borrow, users may walk into Pustaka or use the library’s Bookbear service, which is a book delivery service to your home.
