Lodge International School attains excellence in 2021 A-level result

KUCHING: Lodge International School managed to record another groundbreaking result for the 2021 A-level examination.

A total of 33 students, which makes up of 49 per cent of the cohort achieve straight As and four among them achieved an A* for Mathematics A level. All of the A-level students completed the 1.5 year syllabus within a year.

“Despite the constant changes and setbacks in our environment due to the pandemic, our students’ results reflect their self-discipline and grit, as well as their seamless cooperation with our teachers”, the school said in a statement on Wednesday.

Science subjects continue to maintain excellent results. For Biology and Physics students, over 60 per cent scored straight As, while Chemistry students achieved 78 per cent of As.

Mathematics students continue to show improvement with 68 per cent students achieving As, with seven of them achieving A/A*s.

Results for Humanities subjects were also outstanding. Geography subject has shown an increase of 50 per cent as compared to 2020, while Psychology continues to improve with over 10 per cent increase in A-students. For English Language, 1 in 5 students achieved As and Business students achieved over 90 per cent pass rate.

The school’s head of A-Levels Helena said the school was proud of their students for their hard work and commitment.

“As we continue to develop our A-Level programme to provide a diverse array of options, we are committed to supporting our students in all areas despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic.

“Our teachers have continued to innovate in order to deliver the best learning experience to our students”, she added.

Principal Markus Gatuman also extended his heartiest congratulation to their students.

“We warmly congratulate our students, who have really embodied the spirit of our school motto: Learn, Persevere, Succeed.”

“Our students have shown themselves to be adaptable and optimistic during these challenging times, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours,” he said.

Lodge International students have gone on to prestigious top universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Hong Kong University, University of Melbourne and many more.

The school also has a holistic programme including student involvement in extracurricular activities such as the globally recognised ‘International Award’ and an extensive alumni network to connect students to internships of all kinds from law to multimedia.
