KUCHING: Lodge International School has once again demonstrated its academic excellence, with 37 per cent of its Cambridge A-Level students earning straight As or A*s in their recent examinations.

Six students from the school stood out for their remarkable achievements, securing straight A*s.

These top performers include Clement Chin Yuen Shen (5A*s), David Luk Ku Chian (4A*s), Carmen Kueh Ning (4A*s), Lim Zi Jing (4A*s), Marcus Leong U Han (4A*s), and Penelope Jade Jing Ying Hopkins (3A*s).

Principal Markus Gatuma attributed this success to the collective dedication of students, teachers, and parents. 

“The Cambridge A-Levels examinations are stringent and demanding, but our students delivered a wonderful performance. 

“It could not have been done without their hard work and dedication, as well as the invaluable support of our experienced A-Level teachers and the students’ parents.”

The school saw impressive results across various subjects, with 70 per cent of students achieving A* or A grades in Further Mathematics, and 51.4 per cent attaining the same in Mathematics.

The sciences also saw strong performances, with approximately two-thirds of the students securing A* or A grades.

Deputy principal of A-Levels, Chung Miaw Ling, highlighted the holistic approach to education at Lodge International School. 

“We give our students a holistic education where they learn to make informed choices and take responsibility for their actions. They have shown that they are able to achieve academic excellence while also actively participating in extracurricular activities.”

The school’s success extended beyond the sciences and mathematics, with 73.3 per cent of Psychology students, 66.7 per cent of History students, 50 per cent of Economics students, and 40 per cent of Business students achieving A* or A grades.
