BINTULU: The logistics and transport industry plays a vital role in strengthening Sarawak’s economy.
Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming said that Sarawak’s large size and diverse natural resources offer both opportunities and challenges for the logistics and transport sector.
Pang said efficient management of transportation networks, supply chains, and infrastructure is key to unlock the state’s full potential.
During the annual general meeting (AGM) of the Sarawak Certified Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) yesterday, Pang mentioned that Indonesia’s decision to relocate its capital to East Kalimantan will benefit Sarawak and Sabah.
He urged CILT members to embrace innovation in the logistics and transportation industry, considering the growth of globalisation and technological advancements.
The AGM serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and shaping the future of logistics and transportation in Sarawak. Pang encouraged collaboration, open dialogue, and a shared vision to enhance the efficiency, safety, and reliability of the transport network.
At the AGM, the following individuals were elected to key positions in CILT Malaysia Sarawak: Dr. Abdul Kuddus Ramlee (Chairman), Sophie Shariee (Deputy Chairman), Ling Tiew King (Secretary), Dr. Dayang Chahya Pengiran Putera (Treasurer), Ting Sing Hong, Harbi Bakir, and Hillary Mawan (Committee Members).
