KAPIT: The clinic here successfully organised a health camp at Rh Mathew Bina, Sungai Yong recently.

Kapit District Officer Cerisologo Sabut thanked the clinic, led by its director Mohd Fauzal, for organising a programme that was beneficial to longhouse folks.

“Health is our concern, more so especially now that we are experiencing prolonged drought and haze. Don’t take it for granted,” he said.

He advised everyone to look after themselves mentally and physically.

“In order to live healthily, we must have a healthy environment — clean water, surroundings and air. The current air quality caused by the haze is a health hazard. Do take precautionary measures like use a mask and drink plenty of water.”

Cerisologo also reminded people not to engage in open burning and to put to practice what they had learned from the health camp.

Among the activities during the camp included talks, health screening, hand-washing demonstration, cooking and balanced diet information.
