BINTANGOR: The new drainage system measuring 90 metre long and 0.6 metre wide to address soil erosion issue at Rh Ingol Sawing, Batu 7 Desa Sg Mador has been completed.

Sarikei MP, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii had allocated federal government funds for the construction of this drainage system following report of land erosion around the longhouse, particularly during the rainy season.

He hoped that the newly installed drainage system would facilitate smoother rainwater flow and effectively prevent soil erosion.

“With this, the local residents will also benefit from improved living conditions, enjoying safer and more secure housing area,” Huang said in a press statement yesterday.

Meanwhile, according to Tuai Rumah Ingol Sawing, the local residents extended their appreciation to Huang for his continuous concern and care for the people’s needs.

“He has also promptly addressed the issues faced by the residents and securing funding for the construction and upgrading of the longhouse infrastructure,” Ingol said.
