SRI AMAN: Inchang longhouse last Sunday received a grant of RM8,000 and five units of fire extinguishers at the Majlis Ngiling Tikai Gawai 2019 at the longhouse in Skirau Ai, Lingga here.
The contributions came from Community Well-being Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis who gave RM5,000 to the longhouse Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and RM3,000 to the Women’s Bureau.
Francis in his speech reminded the longhouse folk to remain united. He also mentioned the importance of preserving their cultural heritage.
The event was organised by Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Lingga branch in collaboration with the longhouse Village Security and Development Committee.
