KAPIT: Kapit Member of Parliament, Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, has handed over 15 large plastic water containers to the folk of Rumah Angkin at Jalan Bletih-Yong here.
Nanta, who is also an advisor to the Chief Minister’s Department, made a working visit to the longhouse last Sunday afternoon.
The longhouse folk rely on gravity feed water supply, so the containers are useful for ensuring that they have consistent supply at hand.
Headman Angkin, on behalf of his folk, received the containers from Nanta.
Speaking during a gathering at his longhouse, Angkin thanked Nanta and Bukit Goram assemblyman, Jefferson Jamit Unyat, saying they were always around to offer their assistance in times of need.
“We thank you for being very helpful to us. We pledge to give our undivided support,” he said.
While he was here over the weekend Nanta also visited Rumah Midin Saong at Sungai Pelajau in Bukit Goram (where he officiated at a “ngentak tiang” ritual), and Rumah Minggan Osman at the foot of Bukit Goram.
