SIBU: A project to build a 40-metre retaining wall for Rumah Ejan longhouse in the Sekuau Scheme is currently being implemented.
Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang said that the project was part of the 2021/2022 rural transformation programme (RTP).
“The project was built using the Sarawak government allocation of RM150,000 under the Tamin State Assembly,” he explained in a statement on his Facebook.
He said the project was implemented under the Public Works Department (JKR) and was currently under construction.
“This project will benefit the residents of the longhouse when it is completed,” he said.
Gira noted that the state government under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will continue to be concerned about the welfare of their people through the implementation of various development projects.
“This shows that the people in the Tamin constituency are also not being left behind to enjoy the noble efforts of the GPS government,” he said.
