MUKAH: Certain quarters are raising concern over the 14-day movement control order (MCO ― March 18-31) for fear that it would be extended further if the Covid-19 pandemic does not show any improvement soon.

Mohd Arwin Abdullah is one of those concerned public who also hoped that the situation would improve as soon as possible.

The Mukah Hospital Visitors Board chairman said if the MCO is extended further, some people with no regular income would definitely feel the effect of the order.

He argued that with limited income, that group of people would find it hard to survive.

“Perhaps the government could find initiatives to assist them, including providing certain basic necessities for their survival,” he said to New Sarawak Tribune via WhatsApp yesterday.

He also suggested that in those areas found to have Covid-19 positive cases, the government could provide free face masks and sanitisers.
