KUCHING: A driver and his passenger were left injured following a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Tun Razak today (Jan 11).
The accident, which involved a car and a lorry, happened around 3.45pm.
Firemen from Tabuan Jaya and Padungan stations were promptly dispatched to the scene after a man was reportedly trapped in the vehicle.
Upon arrival, the team performed the extrication works to free the driver out of the wrecked car.
Once freed, the injured driver together his passenger, who managed to get out on his own, were handed over to the paramedics on-site for initial treatment.
Both victims, whose injuries were not known, were rushed to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further medical attention.
Meanwhile, the lorry driver escaped injuries in the accident.
It was reported that the car was exiting the traffic light intersection from Jalan Chawan when the lorry, believed to have failed to brake and stop at the traffic light, crashed into the right side of the car.
