ASAJAYA: A lorry driver and a motorcyclist were killed in a crash near Kampung Terasi Iban here this morning (Jan 7).
The two men were pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene, while the passenger of the lorry, a 34-year-old man, survived with only minor injuries.
The state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said a report on the incident was received at 8.55am and rescuers were immediately directed to the scene.
“At the scene, the 35-year-old lorry driver was pinned to his seat before he was extricated using rescue tools and was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His passenger managed to escape the wreckage with only minor injuries.
“Meanwhile, the motorcyclist, 47, was also found dead at the location,” said a statement today.
It added that both victims were handed over to the police for further investigations.
