BINTULU: A lorry driver was injured after in a three-vehicle collision near a petrol station in Tanjung Datu here last night (May 4).

The Fire and Rescue Department received a call at 9.04 pm regarding the chain collision and it wasted no time despatching a team from the Bintulu fire station to the accident scene where they proceeded to free the driver who was pinned to his seat.

“The lorry driver was trapped in his seat. Special rescue tools were used to free the driver and he was transported to the nearby hospital,” it said.

Other victims of the collision were fortunate to escape injuries. The operation ended at 9.32pm.
