SARIKEI: An elderly man sustained a fractured thigh after his three-tonnes lorry skidded and crashed along Jalan Jakar-Bayong yesterday.

The accident happened around 2.20pm when the 65-year-old victim was en route to Spaoh.

Bomba personnel from Sarikei station was dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call. Upon arrival, they found that the victim trapped at the driver’s seat of his lorry.

The firemen helped to extricate the victim from the vehicle. It was reported the victim sustained a fractured thigh and was handed over to paramedics to be taken to the hospital for further treatment.
