The incident happened around 2pm when the victim, 28, was standing behind his lorry. The driver of the 4WD reportedly reversed his vehicle to leave the site and crashed into the victim.

Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim identified as Bong Kai Feng, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

“Investigations found that the accident happened when the victim is believed to be standing behind his lorry while waiting for his load of tar to be unloaded for road construction purposes.
