‘Lost boy’ Hafiz now in the care of Kuching Social Welfare

Hafiz has been handed over to the Kuching Social Welfare Division after no one came forward to claim him at the Batu Kawa police station. He was spotted wandering around an eatery at Jalan Matang on Tuesday night.

PADAWAN: A young boy, found wandering alone around an eatery by members of the public on Tuesday (Mar 12), has been handed over to the Kuching Social Welfare Division.

The boy, just known as Hafiz, aged between 9 and 10, was found near Fauziah Café, Jalan Matang around 11pm.

According to the Padawan district police headquarters (IPD), the boy was escorted to the Batu Kawa police station, hoping to reunite him with his family.

Unfortunately, despite efforts, no one came forward to claim him at the police station by yesterday morning (Mar 13).

To ensure the boy’s well-being, the authorities decided to send him for a medical examination at a local health clinic.

Following the assessment, he was entrusted to the care of the Kuching Division Social Welfare for further assistance and care.
