KUCHING: Cats and dogs are enemies by nature but they do form friendship depending on the situation.
One such pairing is found in Brownie and ReRe, who eat, sleep and play together.
The pet owner, Ng revealed that Brownie was introduced to ReRe when she was a kitten two years ago, after she failed to bond with six other kittens.
With Brownie being a house dog, ReRe would walk up to him and purr away. Their friendship began on that day.
Ng also said that she has four other dogs but they are not on good terms with the cats.
As the two ate different food, she said she has to place their bowls side by side, or ReRe would start eating the dog’s food.
During bedtime, they would snuggle together and share a blanket.
According to a veterinarian, it is natural for cats and dogs to dislike each other. But there are many cases of them being friends by force of circumstances.
