SEBUYAU: A solar panel project was launched at Kampung Lumut Baru by i-CATS University College, aimed at empowering the local community with sustainable energy solutions.
Launched on July 24 last year, the project had received funding totalling RM40,995.50 from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ Humanitarian Technology Board/Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (IEEE HTB/SIGHT) based in the United States (US).
The project’s focus was on reducing reliance on conventional energy sources, encouraging the use of sustainable energy, and lowering electricity costs for residents in the Sebuyau-Sebangan area.
The project handover ceremony was completed by the Sebuyau District Officer, Ayuradiman Bujang, on behalf of the Utility and Telecommunication Minister, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, at the Kampung Baru Lumut Hall recently.
The ceremony also featured a Solar System Training and Application Sharing Session conducted by IEEE HTB/SIGHT, during which participants received certificates.
