PADAWAN: Three drivers escaped unharmed after one of their vehicles attempted to overtake the others but instead, caused a road accident at Mile 15, Jalan Sebenyis on Monday (Sept 7).

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said that the accident occurred around 8am when all three vehicles — two cars and a van — were travelling from Kuching.

“The accident occurred when a car went into the opposite lane to overtake a van in front of him, but instead hit the right side of the van and spun out of control.

“As a result, that car crashed into the front part of another car behind it,” he said in a statement.

Alexson noted that all the drivers, aged 26 to 55, did not sustain any injuries during the accident.

Road users near the scene alerted the authorities on the accident.

He added that investigations will be made and the case is classified as Rule 10 LN 166/59.
