SARIKEI: A Perodua Axia car is the grand prize to be won by a lucky visitor who takes part in the lucky draw contest to be held in conjunction with the three-day Fiesta National Blue Ocean Strategy 2018 (Fiesta NBOS) which ends on Sunday.
The fiesta began yesterday at the Dewan Suarah here.
In order to win the car, the participant must visit the exhibition to fill in a form and follow the instructions given.
Besides that, two Modenas Kriss motorcycles are also up for grabs by lucky visitors.
Other attractive items to be won are digital television sets, computer gadgets plus other electrical products.
The objective of the fiesta is to introduce NBOS ideas to the community and show the success and effectiveness of the NBOS programme.
In addition, it provides opportunities for local people to engage in the NBOS programme.
In the meantime, it brings government services to the rural people, giving them space to reach out to their respective leaders and launch the latest initiatives using the NBOS concept.
In conjunction with Fiesta NBOS, the Ministry of Finance will hand over mock cheques for contributions to buy basic necessities to 100 hardcore poor households. The cheques will be handed over to four representatives.
In addition, funds will be presented to five non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for their activities while three villagers will receive their Temporary Occupation Licences (TOLs). Aid for the Poor Student Trust Fund (KWAPM) will also be presented.
Furthermore, certificates will be presented to Sarikei Division community leaders while SEDC will hand over mock cheques to entrepreneurs under the Cottage Development Programme.
Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate the opening ceremony of the Fiesta NBOS.
More than 100 government agencies will also participate in the programme that will be accompanied by various activities including aerobic exercises, cooking, karaoke, art and cultural competitions, exhibitions, community sales, product promotions and an agro bazaar.
Unimas will also be giving lectures on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at the fiesta.
Meanwhile, on the entertainment side, a Pentas Rakyat NBOS 2018 was held yesterday, starting from 8pm and featuring artistes from Kuala Lumpur, Joey BPR and Amy Farra. The local singers were Johnny Aman, Siti Azliyani, Haryati Alias and Sarikei Buskers.
Today, at 8pm, Konsert Kombo D’ Aspirasi RTM Sarawak will entertain the visitors to the fiesta with popular singers such as Bob AF and Farawahida and top local singers, namely, Jennifer Jack , Camaiellya Edward, Muhd, Shahrezza, Izam Rocksteady and RTM comedians, Bunyau and Mujap.
Singers, Khalis of Real Spin, Zamery Amera, Dara Hellena will also perform with the DJs from RTM.
Members of the public are welcome to grab the opportunity to visit the exhibition to gain knowledge, receive government services, be entertained and walk away with awesome prizes. Admission is free.
