MIRI: A trailer driver and his attendant suffered the fright of their lives when the vehicle they were in almost plunged off a bridge into a river at Jalan Bakam on Sunday afternoon.
The trailer was travelling from Miri City to Bekenu when the incident happened at about 2pm.
The driver was believed to have lost control of the trailer after negotiating a bend, causing the vehicle to knock into the rail guards on the bridge. Luckily, the rail guards were strong enough to support the weight of the trailer. They prevented the trailer from plunging into the river below.
The trailer driver and his attendant were not injured in the incident. They only suffered the fright of their lives.
