KUCHING: The Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department (CID) welcomed their new chief, fellow Sarawakian SAC Lukas Aket at the state police contingent headquarters today.
Lukas took over the post from SAC Mat Zani@Mohd Salahuddin Che Ali who was appointed Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (Intelligence/International Relations) principal assistant director.
“This is not an easy task, but with the support of many, I think I am able to carry out the duties entrusted to me.
“I promise to shoulder this responsibility with sincerity, honesty and for the sake of excellence of the CID in particular and PDRM (Royal Malaysia Police) as a whole.
“And we will use the existing laws to maintain the security and harmony of Sarawak,” he assured.
Lukas, who is the former Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (Intelligence/International Relations) principal assistant director, said this at the handing over of duties ceremony witnessed by Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail.
In his remarks, Aidi welcomed Lukas’ return to the state as its CID chief, noting that Lukas had previously served in Sarawak before making his return.
“I am confident that his knowledge of the ins and outs and lifestyle of the communities in Sarawak will help him enhance his capabilities of eradicating crime in the state,” he said.
He also called upon the whole Sarawak police contingent to give their full support and cooperation to Lukas throughout his tenure as CID chief.
Also present during the ceremony was Sarawak deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Fisol Salleh and state police contingent headquarters head of departments.
