KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) treasurer-general Datuk Mohamed Salleh Bajuri has been detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on matters involving the party accounts.
According to an MACC source, Mohamed Salleh was detained yesterday and is now under a two-day remand order until tomorrow.
“The arrest is confirmed, however, we cannot divulge further information as he is still under remand and has not been charged,” the source told Bernama today.
Mohammed Salleh was appointed Bersatu treasurer-general in 2016.
In January, MACC froze several accounts belonging to the party. – BERNAMA
