BY MAYA GREEN
Of a vibrant and a secure public space
It encourages better interaction
And helps build a wide communal space
To across the divides, and the separation
A lively communal space, for discourse
To encourage each other to walk across
Of the divisions imagined, in our minds
Of the walls we have built, as dividing lines
A disgrace to oneself, and our neighbours
A shame unfairly misplaced, onto others
Is that how we should live, in this place?
A place to know our self, in the first place?
Wake up from this stupor, in broad daylight
Know the beauty, behind the facade we see
For the soul of a person, it’s made of Light
Dance with joy — when we see the beauty
