SIBU: The Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) has urged the public to uphold cleanliness, especially at public places following large-scale events.
SMC chairman Clarence Ting Ing Horh expressed his disappointment on his Facebook account early this morning (Dec 3) regarding the litter at Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase II.
“I welcome motorcyclists from around the world to Sibu. They are all over the city, bringing tremendous energy to Sibu. I wish you all a safe journey home.
“However, when I was at the town square early this morning, this is what I saw (Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase 2 filled with trash),” he said.
He also expressed hope for better management from the organisers to prevent the area from being littered.
“I am confident that motorcycle enthusiasts can take better care of the environment than this,” he added.
Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase II in Sibu recently hosted the Sibu Bike Week 2023, which took place from December 1 to 3, 2023.
