KUCHING: The state-level National Family Month 2020 celebration is meant to increase public awareness of maintaining family wellbeing.
Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said through this celebration, it is hoped that members of the public would maintain the wellbeing of their family, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The declaration of November as National Family Month shows the importance of the family institution as the basis for building a prosperous nation,” she said in a video message in conjunction with the National Family Month 2020 organised by the Sarawak National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) on Sunday (Nov 22).
The theme for this year is ‘Kita Jaga Keluarga’ (We take care of the family).
Meanwhile, LPPKN also organised a month-long programme in conjunction with the family month which commenced on Nov 2.
There will be live session on the topic ‘Family Planning’ on Nov 25 at LPPKN Sarawak’s Facebook page.
Throughout this month, LPPKN Family Counselling Unit also offers tele-counselling services.
