KUCHING: Kuching’s Got Talent 2023 got off to a good start with a company which has been a major sponsor over the years coming forward to make contribution of RM40,000 to the event.
STM Lottery Sdn Bhd handed a mock cheque for the amount to Kuching City South Council (MBKS) during a ceremony held at the council’s premises on Wednesday (June 28).
Kuching’s Got Talent 2023, which will be held in conjunction with the Kuching Festival, is expected to attract around 280 participants from various talent categories.
Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng announced that the competition will feature three main categories of dancing, singing and other talents.
“Auditions for the event are scheduled to take place on July 1 and 2 at the MBKS Auditorium from 1 pm to 6pm.
“The semi-finals and finals will be held on August 12 and 13 respectively, at the MBKS Theatre (Floating Stage) within the City Hall compound, starting at 7pm,” he said.
Wee thanked STM Lottery Sdn Bhd for their significant contribution towards the event’s operating expenses.
Present at the mock cheque handover were STM Lottery’s Communication and Sustainability manager Yip Bing Tsong, Senior Area Sales Executive (Kuching Area) Helen Tan, Area Sales Executive (Kuching Branch) Florence Loo, Assistant Regional Manager (Sarawak) Henry Liew, Organising Chairman of Kuching’s Got Talent 2023 Isaac Lee Mong Yann and Chairman for Kuching Festival Main Committee Mok Chuang Ping.
