KUCHING: Calling all Mickey Mouse Club House members! Starting in 2025, the Disney Adventure cruise ship will set sail from Marina Bay Cruise Centre, offering three- and four-night voyages.
The 208,000-gross-ton ship will carry approximately 6,700 passengers and 2,500 crew members. According to the Disney Cruise Line announcement yesterday (June 26), the cruise is expected to operate for at least five years.
This marks the first Disney Cruise Line ship to homeport in Asia, in collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board.
“We’re bringing the magic of Disney Cruise Line to Asia for the first time ever, and we want to give our guests the cruise relaxation and Disney fun they can only experience aboard one of our ships,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line.
“When they set sail on the Disney Adventure, guests will find incredible, immersive areas that bring the worlds of Disney, Pixar and Marvel to life in ways like never before – and these uniquely Disney experiences will inspire families to reconnect, recharge and make unforgettable memories that they’ll cherish forever,” she said in a statement.
The ship will feature seven uniquely themed areas for guests to explore, each showcasing beloved Disney characters from popular movies and series such as Toy Story, Big Hero 6, Moana, Finding Nemo, and Avengers.
One such area, the Disney Imagination Garden, is described as the “emotional heart” of the Disney Adventure, inspired by 100 years of “heroic and heart-warming” Disney adventures.
Other themed areas include San Fransokyo Street, inspired by Big Hero 6, where families can play interactive games, shop, and watch movies.
Meanwhile, the Disney Discovery Reef will offer shopping and dining in an ethereal, ever-changing retreat inspired by favourite aquatic characters and nautical stories including The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo, and Luca.
The cruise will also feature stage shows with Disney songs and characters, film screenings, karaoke, and game shows. Dedicated spaces and clubs for children and teenagers, along with premium dining, lounge, and spa experiences for adults, will be available.
Furthermore, it will also include extensive concierge accommodations, including access to exclusive areas and amenities such as a private indoor lounge, an expansive sundeck with a pool and whirlpools, high-end shopping venues, and dedicated spa and fitness facilities.
However, Disney Cruise Line has yet to reveal the cost per guest and said that more details on the vessel’s maiden voyage and on-board experiences will be announced at a later date.
