KUCHING: It is important for some of the printed copies of the State Constitution to be distributed to educational institutions.
Academician and political analyst Dr Ammar Redza Ahmad Rizal said the State Constitution is an important reference point for research and education.
“I am always a big fan of knowledge dissemination. I believe that knowledge must be easily accessed by anyone, especially when the knowledge involves fundamental things such as laws and regulations,” he told New Sarawak Tribune today.
Ammar Redza said the state government must think big, especially in the era of digital infrastructure, and therefore essential documents and materials such as the State Constitution should be made digitally available.
“I think the state government should be the initial institution in providing this. Nevertheless, with the increased number of printed State Constitution, there will be other bodies which will convert the physical materials into online versions,” he said.
At the same time, he hoped that more materials and documents from DUN Sarawak and the state government can be made available to the public.
“Communication is paramount between the state government and citizens to ensure stability and prosperity,” he added.
