BALINGIAN: The state government is giving priority to basic infrastructure in rural areas to ensure that the people live in comfort.

Citing the Rumah Ding and Rumah Jingap road upgrading project as an example, Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi added that the project reflected the state government’s concern for the rural folk.

He was speaking during the handing over of the project and Rumah Jingap car parking site project here.

Both projects were implemented by the Mukah Public Works Department (JKR).  

When speaking to Suara Sarawak, Tuai Rumah Jingap Tugang expressed his gratitude to Abdul Yakub for the implementation of the project.

In a separate function, Abdul Yakub also witnessed the handing over of the multipurpose hall at Kampung Bedanga Ulu, Mukah.

The hall will be used by the villagers for their leisure activities and Abdul Yakub reminded the villagers to take good care of it.

The hall has a stage, foyer with a badminton court, toilets and a storage area.
