MIRI: Invest Sarawak Sdn Bhd is crucial in enhancing investment prospects in Sarawak, with a particular focus on the city, according to local Member of Parliament Chiew Choon Man.
During a courtesy call on Invest Sarawak Sdn Bhd last Monday in Kuching, Chiew discussed the immense potential for investment in Sarawak, highlighting Miri as a key area of interest.
He emphasised that by making Miri an attractive destination for foreign investors, the region could experience significant economic growth and job creation.
“Supporting the initiatives of both the federal government and Sarawak government in attracting foreign investment is crucial,” Chiew stated.
“Our goal is to position Miri as a prime location for foreign investors, which in turn will drive local economic development and create more employment opportunities,” he added.
Chiew also expressed his commitment to actively seeking cooperation with various stakeholders to ensure that foreign investors arriving in Kuala Lumpur consider northern Sarawak, including Miri, as a viable investment option.
He acknowledged Sarawak’s unique advantages and potential in attracting foreign capital.
“We are confident that with continued collaboration between the government and the private sector, we can unlock more economic opportunities for the people of Sarawak,” Chiew added.
Invest Sarawak Sdn Bhd’s efforts are seen as a strategic move to boost the region’s economic landscape, positioning Miri as a key player in Malaysia’s investment map.
