BAU: About eight Mas Gading Community College (KKMG) students from Malaya and Sabah who are unable to return home to meet their families for the Hari Raya celebration received donations in the form of food supplies and cakes.
The contribution was an initiative carried out by the KKMG student affairs unit and the KKMG alumni association under its ‘Tautan Kasih Aidilfitri’ programme.
KKMG director Nor Dalila Abd Rahman said the donation programme was KKMG’s annual routine for the students who could not go home to celebrate with their families.
KKMG welfare coordinator Stephanie, and Leonard Chee Chin Khun and Jovian Gerald Stephen from KKMG alumni association, represented the director in distributing the food supplies.
At the same time, KKMG representatives also went to inspect the condition of the students’ rented house.
The students have been reminded to comply with all the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and avoid going to public places.
Sharulnizam Abdullah from Sabah said that he was grateful for the concern shown by the college to the students who could not return home.
As for Nurul Izzah Abdul Rahman from Johor, she conveyed her appreciation to the college for taking care of the students’ welfare.
“With the presence of this very caring college, their visit is already a blessing during this Hari Raya celebration which is celebrated in the new norm due to the Covid-19 outbreak,” she said.
Nur Syazarina from Sabah, meanwhile, said she made the right decision to stay on campus as it was for the safety and health of everyone.
All of these three students are taking Certificate in Information Technology programme at KKMG.
