The programmme organised is in collaboration with technology centre, Sarawak Skills.
The five-day workshop, which is fully sponsored by Pelan Jana Eknonomi Negara (PENJANA), will see participants attending four hour of online sessions that assist companies in the adoption of industry 4.0 and develop the IoT capabilities for the non-coding workforce of the companies to remain relevant in the job market.
Subsequently, participants will have one-to-one technical support from Sarawak Skills within a week to develop its Proof-Of-Concept (PoC) projects for their organisations.
In a press statement, MPC Sarawak director Nor Hafizah Mohd Arop said that MPC Sarawak would continue to have a collaborative innovative partnership with Sarawak Skills, especially on IoT and Industry 4.0.
The MyReskill IoT programme takes place every month until the end of this year.
Meanwhile, the 2021 World Competitiveness Yearbook by Institute for Management Development (IMD) ranked Malaysia at 28th out of 64 countries in terms of Digital and Technology skills that are readily available.
Thus, for Malaysia to continue to enhance its competitiveness towards digital transformation, the introduction of MyReskill IoT programme as of November 2021 was apt and timely.
The programme implementation was said to be at a pivotal moment as the state approaches the tail end of its five-year Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy 2018-2022.
This year marks the start of the state embarking on its eight-year Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 as a continuation of its digital economy strategy.
In addition, MPC also offers Industry 4.0 Readiness Assessment (RA), a comprehensive programme to SMEs in Sarawak to help them in assessing their capabilities and readiness to adopt industry 4.0 technologies and processes using a pre-determined set of indicators to understand their present capabilities and gaps.
In collaboration with agencies and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), MPC series of RA outreach programmes are aimed at further increasing the uptake of RA Sarawak.
