KUCHING: The concept of the Malaysian Family needs to be implemented at the grassroots level, said Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap.
He said that the concept has brought many benefits to the people.
For example, he said, through that concept people could buy cheaper cooking oil under government subsidies.
He was officiating at Merdeka @ Parlimen here yesterday before announcing an allocation worth RM100,000 to upgrade the community hall at Kampung Sungai Tapang.
The programme was organised by the Kuching Information Department (JaPen) in collaboration with the Malaysian Family community of Kampung Sungai Tapang.
Programmes that were also held during the event included the anti-drug talk, according to JaPen in a statement.
Also present were the Kuching District National Anti-Drug Agency officer Abang Ramlan Abg Deni and the head of Sungai Tapang Village Luha Bunggom.
