BINTULU: Malaysians are advised to learn more about financial planning and risk management, especially among young people in the post-Covid-19 endemic era.

Tanjong Batu representative Johnny Pang Leong Ming said the lack of knowledge about financial planning has led to inefficient financial well-being.

“According to a recent study, 47 per cent of Malaysians cannot accumulate RM1,000 as emergency funds. This is a serious matter, especially when unexpected events occur,” he said during his speech at the financial management seminar organised by the Youth movement of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Tanjong Batu at Hotel Li-Hua here last night.

He said the seminar was very useful as it provided an in-depth view about how we should save, spend, and allocate our money, which is an essential aspect of our lives.

“I hope that through the sharing by a speaker from the Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK), it can provide better knowledge to the public on how to have better financial planning and management,” Pang added.
