KUCHING: Unity is key towards ensuring a progressive, peaceful and successful society, said Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
In his message in conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day today, the Deputy Premier said that Malaysians should be proud because the country has a high value for unity.
“This is because we have been through a lot as a country since its formation back in 1963.
“Despite our country consisting of different racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds, we remain united under one roof.
“Let us pray that Malaysia remains peaceful and harmonious, and continues to progress and develop,” he said.
He hoped the National Day and Malaysia Day celebration would uplift the spirit of patriotism among Malaysians.
