KUCHING:  When the people and government are united, Sarawak and Malaysia as a whole will triumph in the war against the dreaded Covid-19 outbreak, said political observer Datuk Peter Minos.

In his statement, he pointed out that the state and federal governments were putting the safety and interest of the people first in their fight against the outbreak.

“Malaysians will prevail. Our state and federal governments have given great thoughts and decided well for the benefit of the people. The movement control order (MCO) and its rules will surely be able to mitigate the spread of the virus.

“Aid to help and assist people with financial troubles as well as the frontliners working hard to protect us from the disease are also forthcoming. Some RM1.15 billion had also been allocated to stimulate the state’s economy which will later be spurred and revved-up,” he explained.

Minos added that these efforts indicated that the state government not only cared for its people, but is also doing its part for the betterment of the economy for now and the coming days.

“I must admit that it is not easy to get used to staying at home as our daily routines and habits had been disrupted. This was expected and ultimately, inevitable.

“But this is the time to keep our spirits up and do things to keep our morale up such as doing in-house exercises, watching movies, spending time with the family, backyard gardening, or anything that gives us joy.

“Hopefully by April 14, we will recover. We will come out on top, better and tougher than ever,” he said.
