A Bomba operations control centre is set up near Kampung Serpan Laut, Asajaya in Samarahan.

KUCHING: A senior citizen is feared to have drowned after falling into the sea while looking for crabs.

The victim is identified as Lembong Pin, 75, from Kampung Serpan Laut, Asajaya in Samarahan.

According to a spokesman of the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), Lembong’s boat was found by several villagers at Pasir Ambal near the village.

He said a team of four personnel, led by Senior Fire Officer II, Ahmad Shah, was mobilised to the scene following a distress call at 1.00pm yesterday.

It was reported that Lembong was last seen at 1.00am last Tuesday.

The search for Lembong is ongoing as of press time.
