MIRI: A man was arrested in a residential area in Lutong here on Sunday (Jan 14), leading to the seizure of cannabis and methamphetamine (syabu).
Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the suspect was apprehended by Miri narcotics police during a raid.
Upon further inspection, the police discovered a translucent packet containing dried leaves, believed to be cannabis, weighing 1,000 grammes.
Additionally, three plastic packets containing clear crystal lumps, suspected to be methamphetamine, were found, weighing 2.49 grammes. The seized drugs are estimated to be worth RM3,598.
In connection to the arrest, the police also impounded the man’s Toyota Vios, with an estimated value of RM35,000.
The case is currently under investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
