KUCHING: A 37-year-old man was detained by police for allegedly threatening a businessman yesterday.
The suspect was picked up at a shoplot along Jalan Tawi Sli here around 11.00am.
Kuching Police District chief, ACP Abang Ahmad Abang Julai confirmed the arrest and said the suspect’s mobile phone was also seized.
He said the victim, a 70-year-old man, lodged a police report after he received a text message from the suspect who threatened to harm him. It was believed that the incident occurred following some business deals between the duo.
Abang Ahmad said the suspect had been remanded to facilitate investigation into the case.
