MIRI: An Indonesian man’s outrage over a missing RM800 has landed him in police lock-up on Friday evening.
According to the police, the man in his 20s went to confront another man over the missing cash.
It was allegedly said that the suspect used a keris (a Malay dagger) and threatened to harm the victim.
Sources added the suspect had demanded the victim, who is working as a security guard in a plywood sawmill in Kuala Baram, to return the money.
Failing to get his money back, the suspect then threatened him using the keris.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday morning.
Following the incident, a police report was immediately lodged, which led to the arrest of the suspect later that same day.
During the arrest, Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel also seized the keris believed to have been used in the incident.
The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
