BAU: The police here apprehended a man suspected of possessing methamphetamine during a routine crime prevention patrol, last night (June 28).
According to a post on their Facebook page, the man was nabbed by the Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) division of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department of the Bau District Police Headquarters.
“The officers encountered the suspect acting suspiciously behind a food premises at Siniawan Central. Upon conducting a thorough inspection, they discovered that the man did not have an identification card in his possession.
“Further investigation revealed a small transparent plastic packet containing a crystalline substance, suspected to be methamphetamine,” it said.
Following the discovery, the suspect and the seized items were promptly transported to the Bau Police Station.
The case has been handed over to the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division for a detailed investigation under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
