PADAWAN: Police have arrested a man for violating the movement control order (MCO) yesterday.
According to Padawan District Police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan, the suspect was spotted by a team of police who were patrolling the streets around 2.50am.
“The man was seen on his motorcycle at Jalan Batu Kawa here past the restriction hours.
“The suspect was aware of the order but failed to provide any valid and reasonable grounds when asked by the personnel on duty,” he said in a statement.
Aidil added that the suspect’s intention was to return home after visiting his sister at Tondong, Bau.
The case is being investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 as well as Section 186 of the Penal Code.
