MIRI: A man was burnt to death after the car he was travelling in caught fire in a crash in Taman Tunku early yesterday.
Miri police chief ACP Khoo Leng Huat said the incident occurred at 1.55am, when the victim was on his way to Taman Tunku when the car suddenly skidded and crashed into a ditch before bursting into flames near a house.
“The remains of the victim, yet to be identified, were taken to Miri Hospital at 4.30am,” he said in a statement here yesterday.
He said the car driven by the victim was a KIA Optima with the registration number QS8557B.
Miri Fire and Rescue Department chief Law Poh Kiong said the firemen who put out the fire found the victim’s charred body behind the driver’s seat.
