KOTA SAMARAHAN: A local man found himself in hot water yesterday (Apr 27) after police intercepted him with an unusual cargo – several metal fences and a ladder – strapped to the back of his motorcycle.
The incident happened at Lorong 29, Taman Samarindah when the Kota Samarahan district police headquarters’ (IPD) mobile patrol vehicle (MPV) conducted a routine ‘snap check’ inspection.
Realising the presence of the police, the 29-year-old suspect attempted a dramatic escape to evade the law, but his efforts were swiftly foiled by the police.
It was believed that the fences and ladder might have been stolen from nearby residences.
Both the suspect and the seized goods were taken to Kota Samarahan IPD for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
