LAWAS: A man narrowly escaped death after his van collided with a lorry near Kampung Belipat at Jalan Punang here, yesterday.
According to state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre in a statement, they received an emergency call about the accident around noon.
“A collision involving a van and a 10-tonne lorry delivering sand was discovered upon arriving at the spot, which is around 13km from the station.
“One person was injured and trapped at the scene,” it said.
The statement added the firemen used cutting tools to extricate the victim who was trapped in the van.
“The victim was subsequently handed over to the Lawas Hospital for further action after being successfully extracted from the vehicle,” said the statement.
