Man checking traps in jungle goes missing

LIMBANG: A 40-year-old man has been missing since Monday (Feb 14).

In a statement today the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the Limbang station received a call from the Bambangan police station on the incident.

“A team was dispatched to Kampung Mersam, Jalan Meritam where the victim, Mohamad Saiful Harul, was last seen.

“According to the victim’s brother, on Feb 14, Saiful went out to check his traps in the jungle.

“On Feb 16 at around 8am, the brother saw Saiful’s motorcycle still parked near the jungle.”

The brother and a friend decided to look for Saiful, and they searched the jungle from 10am to 2pm, but Saiful was nowhere to be found.

Day One of the search and rescue operation commenced at around 7.30am.
