MIRI: The police here yesterday detained a man suspected of drug possession and drug abuse in a house in Vista Perdana.
Miri Police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, when contacted, said the suspect was picked up by a team from the Miri Narcotic Criminal Department during a raid conducted at 10am.
During the raid, police also discovered illegal substances believed to be methamphetamine weighing 8.85g and with an estimated street value of RM1,450.
The suspect also tested positive for drugs.
Preliminary investigation also revealed that the suspect has previous drug related offences.
“This time around, the drugs were found inside a makeup drawer, concealed in 10 plastic packets,” said Lim.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A (1) and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
