BAU: Police arrested a man on suspicion of engaging in illegal lottery sale during an Ops Dadu raid in Jambusan Lama town on Friday morning.

Bau OCPD DSP Poge Nyaon, who confirmed the case, said the police team detained the 37-year-old suspect for inspections as he was believed to be selling illegal lotteries.

A piece of paper with suspected illegal lottery numbers and some cash, were seized as evidence.

He added that both the suspect and seized items were taken to the police station for further action.

Poge said the suspect, who did not have any past record, will be investigated under Section 4A (a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.

He faces a fine of up to RM200,000 or up to five years jail upon conviction.
