MIRI: A man was caught for shoplifting two cans of beer at a supermarket in Lutong near Miri yesterday.
In the 3pm incident, the 36-year-old suspect was said to put some tins of beer inside a sling back that he carried.
According to a source, the criminal endeavour of the suspect was noticed by a worker at the supermarket that led him to be detained by the security guard on duty.
“Upon inspection, it was found inside the suspect’s slingbag two tins of beer worth RM16.60.
“Suspect also failed to produce any reciept of purchase for the items when demanded by the security guard,” said the source.
Subsequently, the suspect was detained by the security guard who handed him to the police later for further action.
“Now the suspect is being held in custody at the Miri Central Police Station for further investigation,” said the source.
